The Indigo Hotel was a wonderful venue, yet again, for a winter fundraising dinner, auction, raffle and more in aid of Puffer funds.
The delicious meal and humerous after dinner speech by Skipper Nick set a relaxed atmosphere for some serious bidding. Up for auction were, to name a few; trips in a vintage sports car, a wildlife enthusiasts’ boat trip from Crinan, a boat trip to Fort George to see the Moray Firth dolphins, bespoke art works and jars of whisky marmalade. Crinan Boat Yard donated a special cask bottle of whisky which was raffled and, as if this wasn’t enough, there was an opportunity to find sunken treasure at £1o a guess.
Guests participated with great gusto and an amazing £3000 was raised. This has gone straight to Crinan boatyard and will go towards restoring the foredeck winch. A few items from the auction are still available – please pop over to the online shop to have a look.
Many thanks to all who contributed in any way.
The Puffer is shortly to go up the slip for a paint job.
Russel Newbury has bought the Puffer’s Russel Newbury generator.
